The Paradise Island of Sri Lanka Is All Set to Welcome You Back

As Sri Lanka opens its doors to the world once again; Sri Lanka Tourism has pulled out all the stops, ensuring that every precautionary measure has been set in place to make the island getaway as safe, secure, and serene as possible for the visitors.

In this regard, Sri Lanka Tourism has published a ‘Safety Protocols’ to be followed by the Tourism industry stakeholders and visitors. These protocols were issued by the Ministry of Health and adopted by Sri Lanka Tourism after a thorough analysis of the situation and following multiple consultations with all relevant stakeholders and health professionals to ensure a smooth transition to begin operations in the midst of this new normal. You can check out more about this, here.

The airports will be reopening for international travelers from January 21, 2021, and Volunteering Solutions is delighted to announce that we’ll be hosting volunteers in Sri Lanka from the month of May for specific programs including Turtle Conservation, Teaching Buddhist Monks, Kindergarten Program, Dog Care & Environment Conservation Program. So if you’ve been thinking of traveling abroad in 2021 to volunteer and make a difference, why procrastinate any longer?

Here are a few things that you need to know:

  • No minimum number of days is required for a stay.
  • No restrictive quarantine required.
  • Pay for PCR Tests (40 USD per PCR test depending on the number of days of the stay) when applying for a visa online and for insurance (12 USD) with one month’s cover of 50,000 USD.
  • Currently, no exceptions would be made for vaccinations taken; all safety protocols should be adhered to regardless.

P.S – Although there’s no restriction on the number of days, we would like you to stay for at least 2 weeks – as that would give you an opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the volunteer program as well as explore the country.

Sri Lanka Tourism will take every possible step to provide the international visitors to the paradise island an amazing time while ensuring their safety, and the Volunteering Solutions’ Team will be available 24*7 for your assistance.
