Launched in 2021, it replaces the Erasmus+ program for UK participants and focuses on providing funding for volunteering, internships, and educational placements abroad.  

The scheme aims to:

Who Can Apply?

Any institution that is registered in the UK and provides education for students can apply for Turing funding. The following types of institutions are eligible to apply for the Turing Scheme:

  • Schools
  • Colleges
  • Universities
  • Higher Education (HE) providers
  • Further Education (FE) providers
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers
  • Companies working with learners and apprentices

These institutions are encouraged to submit their applications to the Turing Scheme. Participants must be enrolled in one of the eligible institutions but are not required to be full-time students. Additionally, if you employ individuals seeking to upskill or train for a new role, they may also qualify for the scheme.

While universities familiar with the Erasmus Program have been quick to embrace the Turing Scheme, other educational providers—such as schools and employers offering apprenticeships—should also explore this valuable opportunity.
