Thailand Is Planning To Reopen The Borders For International Tourists Soon

If you’ve been wondering when again you can plan a trip to Thailand and enjoy the beach vibes, then we have GOOD NEWS for you!

Famed for its palm-fringed beaches, temples, and backpacker culture, and being one of the most tourism-dependent countries in the world, Thailand is planning to reopen its borders for international travelers as the vaccination program across the world gathers pace. According to the latest news shared by the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), Thailand will be fully reopened by October and all Covid-19 restrictions lifted.

It’s important to note that the country did an incredible job & managed to contain a flareup in Covid-19 infections at the start of the year, and its overall caseload is relatively low at about 26,000, with 84 deaths.

Thailand moved a step closer to issuing vaccine certificates, with a panel of officials backing the proposal seen as a major milestone toward allowing the tourism-reliant nation to fully reopen and welcome travelers. According to Deputy Premier and Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, holders of the so-called vaccine passport may get a complete waiver from quarantine on arrival from October. Thailand is betting on a revival in tourism, which accounted for about a fifth of the country’s GDP pre-pandemic, to return Southeast Asia’s second-largest economy to growth.

The Royal Thai Government has rolled out an Open Thailand Safely campaign, which aims at reopening the borders and boosting the economy of the country while assuring the safety of the citizens as well as international travelers. As per the news shared by Bangkok Post, further discussions will take place regarding the vaccination protocols & border reopening at the meeting of the CCSA’s main committee on March 19, 2021.
