How long does it take to process my application?
The application process takes 10 working days -occasionally longer (given the time of year). However, in the event that interested participants require their application expedited due to time constraints, they are requested to contact our office prior to submitting their application.

Where are the Programs located in Honduras?
Our Programs are located in La Ceiba, which lies on the north Caribbean coast of Honduras. La Ceiba is the third largest city in Honduras and one of the most popular destinations for travelers.

When do I need to arrive in Honduras for my program?
You can come one day in advance from your program starting date.

Do I need a Visa to enter Honduras?
No visas are needed to enter Honduras for the majority of nationalities including US citizen and EEC passport holders. At the port of entrance a 30 day visa is issue automatically for free. If you are to stay more than 30 days you can extend your visa for a small fee at the immigration office in town. The school director will assist you in renewing your visa.

Which airport do I need to book my flights to?
You need to book your flights to Goloson International Airport (LCE) which is also known as La Ceiba International Airport. Direct flights are regularly available from North America and Europe.
There are regular flights from the cities of New York, Miami, New Orleans and Houston. You can try American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Taca Airlines or Iberia if you are coming from Europe. If you need help in making a connection please e-mail us and we can give you advice in this issue.

Why should I go to La Ceiba, Honduras?
Honduras is a safe with a stable democratic form of government. The country has a low cost of living, which makes it a perfect place for someone on budget. The beaches in La Ceiba, a charming coast town on The Caribbean Sea rank among the best in the Caribbean. The region is Mountainous and Surrounded by Rain Forest. There is no discrimination and people are generous and easy going.. La Ceiba has a population of 90,000.00 inhabitants.

What will happen once I arrive in Honduras?

Our Coordinator or representative will be there to meet and greet you at the airport and from there you will be taken to the project or hostel depending on the time of your arrival.

When will I know specific details of my placement?
Once you have applied, we will send you details of your placement usually within 10 working days.

How the Programs are designed?
The programs are designed based on the individual needs and educational backgrounds. Volunteers are given work according to their understanding and requirements. For the Spanish Classes, daily homework is assigned. Conversation: 50% of the time in the class Grammar: 25% of the time in class Pronunciation: 15% of the time on the class Reading + Writing: 10% of the time on the class.

What types of accommodations are provided?
Accommodation is provided in an upper middle class Host family with a private room and bathroom.

What will be the food arrangement?

Volunteers are provided with 3 meals in a day which consists of both vegetarian and non vegetarian meals. The meals consist of Chicken, Rice, Beans, Fish, Salads and Fruits.

How will I commute from the accommodation to the project?
Generally, the projects are at a walking distance. If not, you can commute by minivan or bus.

Is there Internet and Telephone access?
Yes, there are Internet cafes every corner in La Ceiba the price per hour for using the Internet is US$1.00 and you can call the US or Europe for US$0.20 cents a minute.

What is the age range to volunteer?
The minimum age for Volunteering in Honduras is 17 years.Maximum age is 60 years.However, volunteers above 60 years age can also join our program, provided they are fit and healthy.

Can couples or families join the volunteer program?
Couples and families are welcome to join our programs.We can provide shared accommodation for couples.

What hours will I volunteer every day?
Volunteers usually work for 5-6 hours a day depending on their program. You will have weekend off so you can go to travel on weekends. However some organizations will need you to work on some Saturdays as well.

Are we able to do any sightseeing or travelling in weekends?
There are many daily activities including white water rafting, hiking, scuba diving, snorkeling, dancing and cooking classes, visit to nearby beaches, mountains and rivers, field trips to indigenous villages and fruit plantations, canopy tours, nature pool trips, horseback riding, among others.

You can do these activities on weekdays after your work or on weekends.

Do I need travel insurance?
